Fishers of Men

During short term, most of our grade who didn't go on college tour went fishing! The whole week was very relaxing and a great opportunity to become closer in more ways than one. Each of us caught at least one fish, some wayyyyy more.. especially coach TK!

                                                                   Just some artsy pictures!

We literally had so much fun- From chaco tanning to lake side chats to crazy poses to singing (all of the time) to watching Ashton beat up boys to finger tag; so many memories were made this week that we can take and remember forever. It was our last short term for those going to Europe next year. We have such a great grade! I love you all so much and the close family we've become!

I think it's safe to say we love selfies. Everyone is so photogenic! Thanks for letting me take so many pictures of y'all. I had such a great time. You are all so very cute!

On the last day of fishing, we caught a good 60 fish. thanks to the Watson's for letting us use their pond.. they are going to have to do some  serious restocking after that afternoon! On the last day of the week, we had a fish fry and let me just say that the hushpuppies and french fries were by far THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD.

I could not have asked for a better fishing crew! Y'all were the best!

This week, we not only learned how to fish or improve our skills, we also learned that fish love bait. The like it shiny and smelling good. Even casting the same bait will get you fish over and over again...not changing it at all. That's how gullible they are. You could fish without the bait, but with it, the chance of catching them is greater. This is such a great example of how the devil tempts us with "bait". He uses weaknesses and past failures to catch us at an opportune time (Luke 4:13). Even if we before overcame it, he waits for the time when we become more gullible and aren't as strong in that area. Without The Lord, we will fall again. Guaranteed. We need Jesus more than anything. If you keep wondering why this one situation keeps coming up in your life and you just don't know how to handle it, don't let that opportune time come up. Stay strong. When it does, the only thing I can tell you is to trust Jesus and rely on him alone. If before you overcame it, pray for that strength again. The Lord is the only one who can help us. He may use people or our swords (bible) to help us. Listen for him. Seek him and you WILL find him! The devil wants us and tempts us to get us away from what is true and right; but Jesus wants us so bad he died for us. He is the truth and righteous. In him alone can we be saved. SEEK HIM! Also, if someone is going through a situation and struggling with it and you have already gone through it and overcame it, help them. Be fishers of men. Show them Jesus' love and how he helped you come through victoriously in Him alone. Go out and fish for them. They might not know to come to you or be too scared because admitting personal struggles can be really hard. Show them that you love them through Jesus- his love is perfect! It never fails. Try to be that love for someone who really needs it.. that would be everyone. So, go out! Seek and Find. Fish for men!!!
